Minnesota Energy Resources is dedicated to providing safe, reliable distribution of natural gas. Therefore, we will be using trenchless technology during construction as much as possible. This process will allow us to minimize the disturbance to public and private lands and roadways.
Prior to the construction project there are some things we'd like you to know:
- Construction dates will be determined based on when your home or business is ready for the service line to be installed. If you have any questions, please contact our 24-Hour Customer Service at 800-889-9508. When our work is complete, Minnesota Energy Resources intends to restore any disturbed areas. This will be done primarily through placement of black dirt, grass seed, sod and repaving (if needed). However, you may need to water certain areas to ensure complete re-growth of grass.
- You will need to provide us with the location of any private underground facilities prior to any work beginning. This is so we can avoid contact. Examples include sprinkler systems, invisible dog fences and private electric lines. Our crews will make every effort to minimize disturbance to private property.
- We may need to enter your home to determine the location of your sewer lateral, if it can't be determined by another method. We will contact you if this is necessary.
If you notice a problem with your sewer drain(s) after the work is complete, call our 24-Hour Gas Emergency line at 800-889-4970. Do not attempt to clear the sewer lateral yourself. In rare instances when the sewer lateral is not at a proper depth, the natural gas line could intersect with the sewer and cause unsafe conditions. Learn more about sewer line safety.
We understand that construction can be disruptive. Our goal is to minimize the inconvenience to you and your neighbors. If you have any questions or concerns regarding trenchless technology, please contact us.
