Under Michigan Public Service Commission’s administrative rules for disconnections, we are required to verify that residential premises are unoccupied before disconnecting service. After each tenant change, we need your written, notarized statement that the premises are unoccupied before we can disconnect service. After service is disconnected, a reconnection fee may be added to your account if you request reconnection in your name.
If you choose to have service disconnected at meter(s) located inside a building or otherwise inaccessible location,
you will need to provide us access to disconnect the service(s). Please contact us within 15 days of a tenant’s move
to make arrangements for meter access.
